This Therapy uses specially shaped tools that can be used to reduce scar tissue problems, achieve greater results with pain control, joint, and muscle flexibility.

Reasons for Your Pain

Commonly pain occurs from the result of over-used muscles and soft tissue that changes due to the extra stress being placed on them. These changes result from the following:

  • Acute Conditions, Pulls, & Tears
  • Accumulation of Small Tears & Micro Trauma
  • Reduced or Lack of Oxygen

Treating Your Pain

Each of the above factors causes your body to produce tough scar tissue in the affected area. The scar tissue builds up and tears and encourages new tissue to grow freely. As scar tissue builds up, muscles become shorter and weaker, tension on tendons causes tendonitis, and nerves can become trapped. This can results in a reduced range of motion and increased pain.

Active Release Technique treatment is a combination of an exam and treatment in order to evaluate the texture, tightness, and movement of muscles, fascia, tendons, and nerves. Abnormal tissues are treated by combining precisely directed tension with very specific patient movement.
